Satellite TV has been watched for decades in the United States, but until the mid 1990’s, only a small number of people could afford to install a satellite dish, television has never been quite the same. Now everything has changed, virtually everyone can afford to have a dish on their house, in fact, most satellite TV companies offer free installation, so that is no longer even a question.
Cable TV has served its purpose for years, but has recently lagged behind in quality, service, and value. It seems that most cable companies that I have dealt with, are slow to respond, are not very helpful and their technicians are often lazy and do not do a very good job.
Here are some key reasons that satellite is a better bang for your buck than cable:
1. Cable TV requires an actual cable to be connected to your house, usually routed from a nearby power line. If your street or your city hasn’t been connected yet, you’re out of luck. Satellite, on the other hand, works as long as you have a view of the sky above.
2. You have a wide variety of channels with both cable and satellite television. Cable, however, is limited in that it can only handle up to 260 channels while satellite can carry much more. Satellite is also much more advanced in HDTV (High Definition Television). Most satellite TV companies carry 130 HD channels, and will soon have over 200, compared to cable which has less than half that many.
3. Studies show that satellite users spend on average $10 less per month than cable customers.
As shown above, it is clear that satellite is superior to cable, so what features do you get with satellite television:
*You can watch your favorite shows online from anywhere with an Internet connection.
*Get instant scores with score guide.
*Make your channel search easier while viewing up to 8 channels simultaneously.
*DVR scheduler allows you to program your DVR from a cell phone or online.
*Local channels are included with every package.
*Get the most sports in HD
In my opinion, satellite TV is the new choice for America, it is cheaper on average, you get more of the channels you want, more HD channels, more sports programming, and more International programming than most cable TV providers are able to give you. And with the new edition of having a DVR in your home for virtually no cost at all, you can watch what you want, when you want, and you can fast forward through commercials! It really is something for everyone to consider.
